What to Bring to a Model Rocket Launch

Make sure you have everything you need for a successful launch day. First-time flyers should start with a beginner rocket kit to learn the basics of assembly, motors, recovery, and safe launch procedures.

We provide launch support and equipment to help make each launch day smoother and safer for everyone.

  • Launch Rail: A 6ft 1010 launch rail.
  • Launch Rods: 3ft launch rods in both 1/8 inch and 3/16th inch sizes.
  • Launch Controller: A 12v launch controller, capable of clustering.

Launch Day Essentials

  1. Your Rocket: Fully assembled
  2. Recovery System: Parachute, streamer, or other recovery device in good condition. Make sure it is properly mounted
  3. Motors: Appropriate size, keep in mind the size of the field. Extras never hurt
  4. Igniters: Extra igniters, especially when using Estes
  5. Wadding: Fire-resistant wadding to protect parachute from ejection heat
  6. Toolbox:Bring items for quick repairs, like tape, glue, and small tools. Sandpaper and construction paper also come in handy
  7. Water & Snacks: Stay hydrated and bring a snack for outdoor activities
  8. Weather-Appropriate Clothing: Dress for the current weather conditions
  9. Sunscreen & Hat: Protect yourself from sun exposure during outdoor launches
